Ingredients

Homemade BBQ Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Molasses
  • 2 tbsp Yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Dad’s All Purpose rub
  • 1 tbsp Hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Drizzle olive oil over the entire outside of the chicken.
  2. Season the entire chicken generously, including the cavity, with Dad's All Purpose rub.
  3. Open the can and place whole seasoned chicken on top of the beer, sitting it up straight.
  4. Preheat the grill to 350 degrees and set for indirect heat.  Place the chicken onto the grill.
  5. In a sauce pan, add ketchup, yellow mustard, brown sugar, honey, molasses, Dad's All Purpose Rub, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar and a little hot sauce for some heat. Simmer over low heat until the sauce starts to thicken.
  6. Once the chicken reaches an internal temp of 140 degrees, glaze the entire bird with the homemade BBQ sauce.  Let it finish cooking, then rest for 10 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.
  7. Remove off the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
